Acclaimed Canadian jazz pianist Oliver Jones died on July 22, 2026, at the age of 91. A prominent figure in the Montreal jazz scene, Jones had a career spanning over six decades that included international tours, more than 30 recordings, and performances at the Montreal International Jazz Festival. His honors included being named an Officer of the Order of Canada and receiving the Governor General’s Performing Arts Award.
