Death of Dragan Marinković

Overview

Dragan Marinković, father of Serbian media personality Bora Santana, suffered a severe stroke while on a beach in Bar, Montenegro. Following the medical emergency, Marinković was hospitalized in a coma as doctors attempted to stabilize his condition.

On August 20, Marinković passed away after suffering his fourth stroke. Prior to his death, his family had organized a church wedding for him and his stepmother to fulfill a personal wish. A funeral service was held in Sremčica, Belgrade, attended by family, friends, and various figures from the Serbian entertainment industry, including host Milan Milošević.

Following the passing, Bora Santana shared that doctors informed him his father could not be saved due to “extensive brain damage.” Santana noted that he stepped away from reality television commitments to be with his family. He mentioned that while Milica and Željko Mitrović offered to arrange a helicopter for his travel, logistical or financial constraints prevented its use. Santana also reflected on the support received from colleagues during the funeral while expressing disappointment regarding a lack of condolences from certain acquaintances.
