Death of entrepreneur Von Scales

Overview

Von Scales, a Georgia-based entrepreneur and husband of singer Trina Braxton, died at the age of 58 on October 1. Scales, who was known to the public through reality series such as ‘Braxton Family Values’, worked in real estate finance and served as the Director of Wellness at Hamilton Mill Family Complete Care.

His death was confirmed by the family, who requested privacy during their period of mourning. Reports indicate Scales passed away around 2 a.m. on a Thursday in Atlanta. While an official cause of death has not been publicly confirmed by authorities or family representatives, reports suggest he may have been experiencing heart-related issues.

Scales and Braxton were married in December 2019. The loss follows a series of recent deaths within the Braxton family, including the 2022 death of Traci Braxton and the 2018 death of Trina’s former husband, Gabriel Solis. Following his passing, singer Toni Braxton shared a tribute to her brother-in-law on Instagram, while Tamar Braxton also posted an emotional tribute, describing Scales as a ‘loving and protective partner’ to her sister.
