Death of Salvadoran streamer Komanche

Overview

Carlos Mauricio Gómez, a 30-year-old Salvadoran content creator known as ‘Komanche’, was found dead in a residence in the Paseo de las Cumbres neighborhood of Monterrey, Mexico. His body was discovered after neighbors noticed the property door had been left open.

Initial reports indicated that no immediate signs of violence were observed at the scene, with preliminary investigations suggesting the possibility of suicide following a social media post in which Gómez wrote, ‘The days simply do not improve.’ His manager, Byron Reyes, highlighted the impact of digital harassment, stating that ‘bullying at any scale is not a game.’

An autopsy later determined the cause of death was asphyxiation. Despite this finding, the General Prosecutor's Office of Nuevo León is maintaining an active investigation to clarify the circumstances surrounding the death of the prominent gaming community figure.
