Deaths of prominent Balkan figures

Overview

The Balkan region has seen a series of deaths involving prominent figures in sports, medicine, academia, and law.

In early October, the sports community mourned several individuals, including Croatian footballer Ivan Gudelj, HNK Gorica technical director and army colonel Darko Blažinčić, and Bosnian handball international Suad Mujić.

Subsequent reports noted the passing of Professor Goran Talić, director of an orthopedic institute in Banja Luka, and Milan Podunavac, a former dean and political scientist in Belgrade. Additionally, Vladimir Vuletić, a professor of Roman Law and former Vice President of FK Partizan, was found dead in his Belgrade apartment; authorities have ordered an autopsy to determine the cause of death.
