In July 2026, the Decathlon–CMA CGM men’s squad made its Tour de France debut, with 19-year-old Paul Seixas finishing fourth. Following this performance, the team announced plans to retain Seixas beyond his current contract, which runs to the end of 2027, through a longer-term extension and salary increase to be negotiated in August–September. To reinforce the squad, the team planned to add four to five new riders in September to build a stronger support unit for future Grand Tours. French President Emmanuel Macron has also expressed support for keeping the young talent on a French team. By mid-August, Seixas addressed rumors regarding a potential early transfer to major teams, confirming his commitment to remain with Decathlon–CMA CGM through the end of his 2027 contract. In late August, Seixas was named as a leader for the upcoming cycling World Championships in Canada, scheduled for September 20 to 27, 2026. This follows his performance in Rwanda and a victory at the Tour du Pays basque. On September 11, selector Thomas Voeckler announced the official French men’s roster for the Montréal World Championships, designating Seixas as the “undisputed leader” for the road race. He will be supported by Decathlon–CMA CGM teammates Nicolas Prodhomme and Jordan Labrosse, as well as Pavel Sivakov, Bruno Armirail, Valentin Paret-Peintre, and Alex Baudin. Seixas is also set to compete in the time trial alongside Armirail. The road race course is expected to be highly demanding, featuring steep climbs of up to 11% on the Mont-Royal circuit. In the women’s category, 20-year-old Célia Géry has been designated as the leader for the French team. Later that month, the organization confirmed the creation of a new women’s professional team for the 2027 season.
