Indian cricketer Deepti Sharma has achieved significant milestones in international women’s cricket. Following her role in leading India to an ICC title at the 2025 ODI World Cup, where she was named Player of the Tournament, Sharma has continued her success in the Women’s Asia Cup. During a Group A fixture against Thailand in the 2026 Women’s Asia Cup, Sharma reached 171 wickets, making her the leading wicket-taker in women’s T20 Internationals. In doing so, she surpassed Thailand’s Thipatcha Putthawong (170) to claim the top spot in the format. In her 150th T20I appearance, Sharma also set an Indian record for the fewest runs conceded while taking three wickets in a single match, delivering a bowling spell of 3 wickets for 0 runs in 1.1 overs at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium. This performance contributed to India’s 94-run victory over Thailand, after India posted 159/9 led by Shafali Verma’s 64 runs. Verma was named Player of the Match for her aggressive half-century. Sharma’s bowling figures also made her the first Indian bowler to take three or more wickets without conceding a single run in a Women's T20I.
