Transport operators in Delhi announced a march to Parliament on 4 August, demanding an independent scientific review of the nationwide E20 ethanol‑blended petrol mandate. Association leaders said the blend reduced fuel efficiency, raised maintenance costs and caused engine problems, especially in older vehicles not designed for a 20 % ethanol mix. The following day, Aam Aadmi Party national coordinator Arvind Kejriwal scheduled a “National Town Hall” for 1 August to amplify the dispute. The event, to be held in Delhi and streamed online, will bring together experts, vehicle owners and activists, and will present a petition of over 200,000 letters to Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Kejriwal framed the issue as a growing nationwide concern and linked it to broader political criticism of recent police actions and anti‑leak legislation. On 27 July, Kejriwal gave further details, confirming the town hall will take place at the Constitution Club of India in Delhi. He said the online petition against E‑20 has amassed more than 200,000 signatures and that he will deliver the petitions to the Prime Minister’s residence the following week. The meeting will be open to in‑person attendees from Delhi‑NCR and to participants nationwide via an online registration line. In the same briefing, Kejriwal also referenced the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, police actions against student protests in Bihar and elsewhere, and denied allegations of paper‑leak incidents under AAP rule.
