Throughout July and August 2026, Danish transport networks faced continued disruptions from accidents, roadworks, and seasonal travel surges. In early July, accidents on the Vestmotorvejen near Sorø and on Route 16 between Assentoft and Fausing caused lane closures and travel delays. By mid-July, holiday traffic congestion was reported on the Vestmotorvejen between Slagelse and the Storebæltsbroen, while the Express 1 ferry from Ystad to Rønne experienced delays due to road congestion near Ystad harbor. The Danish Road Authority issued warnings regarding a heat wave, advising motorists to prepare for long queues during peak summer travel. Late July saw significant infrastructure and event-related disruptions. On 28 July, cargo falling from a vehicle blocked a lane on the E45 between Vejle S and Skærup. On 30 July, a major renovation began on the bridge over Spragelsevej at Herlufmagle, which will restrict high-load vehicles and limit traffic to a single lane through November. Simultaneously, the PostNord Danmark Rundt cycling race caused temporary street closures in Skive. On the same day, an accident on the Storebæltsbroen forced a lane closure toward Zealand. In late August, further incidents occurred, including an accident on Route 23 near Svebølle and a northbound lane closure on the E45 near Horsens. Additionally, motorists on the E45 ~~Frederikshavnsmotorvejen~~ Frederikshavnsmotorwegen were warned of lost cargo on the roadway. On 26 August, a car collided with a light rail train in Lyngby at the intersection of Nybrovej and Buddingevej, an incident likely caused by a driver running a red light. In Skanderborg, a collision occurred between police and an 18-year-old moped rider who was attempting to flee officers; the Danish Independent Police Complaints Authority (DUP) is investigating the matter.
