The Denver Broncos secured a 30-26 comeback victory against the Los Angeles Rams during Sunday Night Football at Empower Field at Mile High, overcoming a 16-0 halftime deficit. Although the Rams dominated the first half behind Matthew Stafford’s passing and field goals by Harrison Mevis, Denver rallied in the second half behind quarterback Bo Nix, who threw two touchdown passes and executed a decisive one-yard rushing touchdown with 47 to 48 seconds remaining. A pivotal moment occurred when a defensive pass interference penalty against the Rams erased what appeared to be an interception by Josh Wallace, allowing Nix to drive the team 65 yards. The momentum shifted further when safety Talanoa Hufanga returned an interception 66 yards for a touchdown, providing the Broncos their first lead of the game. Hufanga later secured the victory by recording a second interception in the end zone on the Rams’ final play. The game was also marked by controversial officiating and multiple Rams penalties in the final minutes. Following the loss, Rams head coach Sean McVay apologized for “abruptly leaving his postgame press conference shortly after the game concluded,” citing a misunderstanding regarding timing and media access. Despite the win, Broncos coach Sean Payton expressed concern regarding the team’s “sluggish starts and early-game efficiency.” On the injury front, the Rams are managing setbacks to cornerback Jaylen Watson and tight end Terrance Ferguson, while the return of wide receiver Puka Nacua remains a possibility for future games. The win moves the Broncos to 2-1, while the loss drops Los Angeles to 1-2.
