Deportivo San Pedro, a newly promoted club in Guatemala’s Liga Nacional, secured a historic 1-0 victory against Xelajú MC in its Torneo Apertura 2026 debut. Argentine forward Germán Águila scored the club’s first-ever national league goal in the 58th minute. The match, held at Estadio Marquesa de la Ensenada, concluded with Xelajú playing with ten men following the 80th-minute dismissal of Jorge Aparicio.
