MHP leader Devlet Bahçeli has introduced a long-term strategic vision for Turkey, initially framed as the ‘Turkish and Turkey Century’ (Türk ve Türkiye Yüzyılı). This vision aims to position the nation as a ‘Super-Power Turkey’ and a ‘Leader Country Turkey,’ emphasizing a Turkish-language worldview to unite Turkish-speaking societies. Bahçeli subsequently expanded on these objectives through a ‘Terror-free Turkey’ initiative. He described this as a strategic necessity to ensure economic prosperity and regional stability. The initiative seeks to have terrorist organizations lay down their arms to allow Turkey to act more independently in foreign policy. Following the recent passage of a legislative framework by the Turkish Grand National Assembly to strengthen national unity and social integration, Bahçeli outlined the first phase of this initiative: the disarmament of terrorist organizations and the removal of terror elements from specific regions. Furthermore, Bahçeli introduced the concept of ‘Turkish Peace,’ which aims to establish a regional order based on justice. This involves countering political instability in Syria, Iraq, and Lebanon to protect Turkish sovereignty and strengthen national unity in neighboring states. He argued that supporting strong central authorities and territorial integrity in these nations disrupts historical imperialist plans, such as the Sykes-Picot order, by preventing the fragmentation of sovereign states into ethnic or religious autonomous zones.
