Production for the second season of ‘Dexter: Resurrection’ has been confirmed to be underway in Times Square, Manhattan. The upcoming season follows Dexter Morgan as he navigates a mid-life crisis in New York City while being pursued by two distinct killers: the ‘New York Ripper’ (Brian Cox) and the ‘Five Borough Killer’ (Dan Stevens). A three-year time jump depicts Dexter’s son, Harrison (Jack Alcott), as a 21-year-old NYPD officer, forcing father and son to work together. The cast includes returning actors Uma Thurman, Desmond Harrington, James Remar, and David Zayas. Notably, reports indicate Zayas will return as Detective Angel Batista, though his appearance may involve flashbacks or hallucinations rather than a literal resurrection. Additionally, Eric Stonestreet will return as Al Walker, also known as ‘Rapunzel’, the only killer to escape Dexter’s execution room in the first season. Paramount+ and Showtime are scheduled to premiere the season on Friday, October 30, 2026, with SkyShowtime streaming the episodes on October 31. The series is led by showrunner Clyde Phillips and features new regulars including Bokeem Woodbine, Nona Parker Johnson, Krysten Ritter, and Gabriel Luna as ‘The Sleepy-Eyed Strangler’ (Ray Ballad). Recent promotional materials, including an official trailer and poster released by Paramount+, have reinforced the premiere date of October 30, 2026. During a panel at New York Comic Con, it was officially confirmed that Eric Stonestreet will return to his role as Al Walker. The upcoming season also marks the 20th anniversary of the franchise.
