Despite the violence, the match concluded with a 1-0 victory for 1. FC Kaiserslautern via a 120th-minute goal by Ibrahim Kanaté. The German Football Association (DFB) has announced a comprehensive investigation into the incidents, noting that such behavior has no place in football.
