Director of Rugby John Dobson announced a 56-man squad for the DHL Stormers’ 2026/27 season, intended to cover both the Vodacom URC and Investec Champions Cup. The roster includes 17 internationals, featuring 15 Springboks and several players from the recent Junior Springboks championship-winning side. The squad maintains continuity with 18 players from the club’s 2021/22 title-winning team, including the return of Siya Kolisi, Wilco Louw, and Cheslin Kolbe. Following a tour to face Connacht and Edinburgh, the Stormers reinforced their squad with 11 Springboks, including Siya Kolisi, Damian Willemse, Sacha Feinberg-Mngomezulu, and Cobus Reinach, for a United Rugby Championship coastal derby against the Hollywoodbets Sharks. Director of Rugby John Dobson noted the need to improve lineout performance as the team seeks to recover from a defeat against Edinburgh. Ahead of the coastal derby at Cape Town Stadium on 10 October, the Stormers have added aerial specialist Steven Morris to assist with lineout and high-ball defense. The match also features the bench debut of 21-year-old scrumhalf Haashim Pead. The Stormers face a Sharks side currently at the top of the URC standings following victories over the Ospreys and Leinster.
