Set in locations such as Madrid and Barcelona, the drama examines the tension between a mother’s perceived sacrifice and her children’s sense of abandonment. Luna noted that while discourse regarding Latin American migration often focuses on movement toward the United States, his film highlights the contemporary trend of migration toward Spain driven by political shifts and violence in Mexico. Starring Anna Díaz and Adriana Paz, Luna stated that cinema serves as an ‘antidote to ignorance and hate’ to foster empathy for migrants.
