Digital Hollywood University (DHU) has expanded its educational and regional involvement through new partnerships and projects in Japan. In late August 2026, the university announced a partnership with Ame ni mo Makezu High School to establish a laboratory through DHU’s Institute of Real Science. This initiative aims to provide high school students with a practical research environment alongside university faculty and professionals. Concurrently, the university scheduled the ‘Tashiten’ media art exhibition to showcase student works under the guidance of Visiting Professor Yoichi Ochiai. By the end of August 2026, DHU’s role in digital education expanded to a prefecture-wide level. The institution was commissioned by Nagano Prefecture to manage the ‘DX High School Support Project’. This program, part of a Ministry of Education Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT) initiative, focuses on teacher training in subjects such as Python, JavaScript, and digital ethics, while also facilitating connections between DX High Schools and local businesses to foster digital talent in the region. As of August 31, 2026, specific details of the Nagano project include eight hybrid training sessions for teachers covering Python programming, digital ethics, 3D printing, and the educational use of the metaverse. The contract also includes the provision of e-learning materials for Information I and II subjects for one year. This project operates within a broader national framework where 1,249 high schools have been selected for the DX High School program for the 2026 academic year, with various schools focusing on areas such as agricultural DX, semiconductor talent development, and metaverse-based commerce.
