Singer Diljit Dosanjh originally scheduled his Aura India Tour concert at Delhi’s Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium for November 1, 2026. Following an appeal from Rajya Sabha MP Vikramjit Singh Sahney to respect the anniversary of the 1984 anti-Sikh riots, the date was rescheduled to October 30. Initially, the Delhi Police denied security clearance for the October 30 event, citing “specific threat-related intelligence inputs” and heavy law and order commitments during the festive season. This denial placed the tour launch in jeopardy. It was later noted that the initial hesitation was also linked to a hoax bomb threat sent to several Delhi schools earlier in October, which included emails warning against the concert. However, the concert has now received official permission from the Delhi Police. Organizers clarified that the event was temporarily paused rather than cancelled. Following a meeting between the ticketing platform BookMyShow Live and police authorities to discuss enhanced security, traffic management, and crowd control measures, the administration granted the necessary clearance. Addressing the uncertainty on social media, the singer responded with a humorous video, urging fans to stop debating the event online and instead attend the performance. The concert marks the start of the India leg of the Aura India Tour. ~~Addressing the uncertainty on social media, the singer confirmed his arrival in Delhi and reaffirmed his commitment to meeting fans at the stadium on the scheduled date.~~
