Rahel Gebrezgi Mengesha, a 28-year-old Ethiopian student at the University of Calabria, has been reported missing since October 19. Her last known location was near the Maisonettes residential area in Arcavacata di Rende. Since her disappearance, her mobile phone has remained switched off. The university community and local residents have mobilized to assist authorities, using social media and appeals to television programs like ‘Chi l’ha Visto?’ to spread her description. Students have also held moments of remembrance for her during local events. As of late October, the Cosenza Police Headquarters is coordinating investigations into the disappearance of the chemistry student.
