Gabriela Evaldt Cardoso, a 23-year-old digital influencer and rideshare driver known as Babi Souza, was reported missing after leaving Tramandaí, Rio Grande do Sul, on the night of September 6. She was driving a white Volkswagen Gol borrowed from her mother when she disappeared while traveling toward Torres. On September 16, following an anonymous tip, authorities located the vehicle in the garage of an uninhabited residence in the Jardim Atlântico neighborhood of Tramandaí. The car had its license plates and identifying stickers removed and was missing a hubcap. The Civil Police and the General Institute of Forensics (IGP) conducted technical examinations on the car and the property. Forensic experts have since performed papiloscopy and collected biological traces. Among the items recovered from the vehicle was a fingernail believed to belong to Cardoso, which is undergoing analysis to determine its origin. Investigators are also conducting DNA tests and examining the victim's recovered cell phone. As the investigation advances, authorities stated they are not ruling out any possibilities, including homicide. Police in Rio Grande do Sul are currently utilizing surveillance footage to assist in the investigation of Cardoso’s disappearance following the discovery of her abandoned vehicle.
