The investigation into the disappearance of Dutch film producer and Rudisa executive Rodney Leysner has transitioned from a missing person case to a criminal inquiry in Suriname. Leysner has been missing since August 15, after leaving his home for a work meeting in the Saramacca district. During the investigation, police discovered a burnt and crushed white Kia Sorento buried in a swamp on a vacant lot in Saramacca. Authorities confirmed the vehicle belongs to Leysner by identifying its chassis number, suggesting the vehicle was intentionally destroyed and hidden. Four suspects have been linked to the case. A Cuban couple and a Surinamese man with the initials E. R. have been detained. A fourth suspect, Ryan Torilal, remains at large and is being sought in connection with serious charges, including murder and manslaughter. To assist in the search, a specialized team from the Netherlands has arrived in Suriname. The team from Netherlands, Stichting Reddingshonden RHWW consists of 15 personnel, including eight specially trained search dogs, eight handlers, and seven support specialists trained RHWW, was deployed to a specific location in land, water, and rubble search disciplines.
