Disney musical production at Vienna Raimund Theater

Overview

A new production of the Disney musical ‘Beauty and the Beast’ has premiered at the Raimund Theater in Vienna. Directed by Matt West, the production seeks to replicate the aesthetic of the original animated film through detailed Disney-style costumes and stage design.

Early reviews of the premiere noted high-quality choreographed ensemble scenes and the musical score by Alan Menken, though some critics commented on the use of stylized dialogue and orchestral amplification. The production features updated choreography and new musical elements intended to revitalize the classic story.
