English defender Djed Spence has completed a transfer from Tottenham Hotspur to Inter Milan. The move is intended Milan to replace Denzel Dumfries, who joined Real Madrid. The transfer is valued at a total package of 35 million euros, consisting of a 31 million euro fixed fee and 4 million euros in potential bonuses. As part of the agreement, Tottenham Hotspur will receive 10% of any future resale of the player. Spence has signed a five-year contract that runs running until June 30, 2031, with an estimated annual net salary of approximately 3 million euros. Upon his departure, Tottenham designated Spence as ‘Legacy Number 866’ in the club’s history. Spence, who previously played for Genoa in Serie A, expressed his excitement about the move, stating, ‘I was definitely attracted by the history. It is a really great club. This is a big step for me and my family.’ Under manager Cristian Chivu, the versatile wing-back is expected to provide coverage across both flanks. However, Spence’s integration has been delayed by a physical issue sustained during the World Cup. After missing much of the summer preseason, he has recently returned to training at Appiano Gentile. Inter Milan is taking a cautious approach to his recovery, with his official debut potentially delayed until after the international break, possibly in a match against Parma. In his absence, Andy Diouf has been performing in the right-wing position.
