Docomo Bike Share system outage and service restoration postponement of rebranding

A nationwide system migration for Docomo Bike Share caused a widespread outage of its electric-bike rental service in Japan, beginning around July 29 and continuing through early August. The disruption, attributed to communication troubles during and insufficient processing capacity in the transition, new system during peak hours, affected multiple municipalities including Tokyo, Yokohama, Osaka, Nara, Hiroshima, and Okayama.
