Country music icon Dolly Parton has been unable to attend scheduled events at her Dollywood theme park in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, due to health concerns. Parton missed the dedication ceremony for the park’s new NightFlight Expedition attraction, a US$50 million indoor ride, after being advised by her doctor not to travel. Parton participated in the event via video from Nashville, explaining that her doctor had ‘clipped my wings’ due to issues including dizziness and dehydration. This absence follows a series of health-related setbacks, including the postponement of a planned Las Vegas residency earlier in the year. During the August 14 grand opening of the NightFlight Expedition—an immersive indoor hybrid coaster and whitewater adventure—the 80-year-old singer reiterated that her Nashville doctor advised against the 200-mile trip. While addressing fans via pre-recorded video, she reassured them that ‘all is going well on the medical end of things.’ Despite these recent setbacks, Parton noted she remains active with upcoming projects, including several professional projects. In addition to the SongTeller Hotel, the Life of Many Colors Museum, Hotel and a the Broadway musical titled ‘Dolly: A True Original Musical.’ Musical,’ she has announced plans for a new museum in Nashville celebrating her life, alongside the previously mentioned Life of Many Colors Museum.
