Events are being organized in the Puglia region of Italy to celebrate the legacy of singer-songwriter Domenico Modugno. The detailed schedule includes: • 4 September: Performances by Syria and Peppe Voltarelli accompanied by the Sanremo Symphony Orchestra. • 5 September: A program featuring Puglian female vocalists supported by a choral formation and the orchestra. • 6 September: Contemporary interpretations of Modugno’s songwriting by artists such as Daniele Silvestri, Frankie hi-nrg mc, and Marco Castello, alongside five Puglian artists from the ‘Meravigliose’ project. • 7 September: A concluding program centered on Modugno’s cinematic contributions. The festival aims to promote the region’s cultural identity by connecting historical identity with contemporary musical languages, evolving from a specific tribute into a broader initiative for regional valorization and training. As of 4 September 2026, the musical festival ‘Tra Domenico Modugno e la canzone d’autore’ has commenced in Polignano a Mare. The opening program features the Sanremo Symphony Orchestra performing alongside Syria and Peppe Voltarelli. In conjunction with these cultural activities, the municipality has also hosted ‘Si gioca – Giochi di una volta’ in Piazza Trinità, an initiative featuring 40 traditional game stations intended to foster intergenerational social interaction.
