Legal proceedings regarding domestic violence incidents have been reported across several Balkan nations. In Bosnia and Herzegovina, prosecutors in Bijeljina filed charges against a man for physically attacking a former partner and their minor daughter, causing light bodily injuries. In Višegrad, an indictment was confirmed against an individual for making threats toward a former wife while intoxicated. More recently, the District Public Prosecutor's Office in Trebinje issued an indictment against a 29-year-old man from Ljubinja. He is accused of striking his wife twice in the face with an open palm, an act that allegedly threatened the “peace, physical integrity, and mental health” of the victim, who has three minor children. In Serbia, a prosecutor in Pančevo filed an indictment against a man from Starčevo for four counts of domestic violence, alleging he threatened to kill his wife and brandished a pistol in the presence of his daughters. In Montenegro, authorities in Berane ordered 72-hour detention for two suspects: one accused of striking his wife with a wooden stick and another suspected of assaulting an elderly uncle while intoxicated. Meanwhile, in Croatia, a woman in the Daruvar area received a suspended one-year prison sentence after being found guilty of assaulting her partner with a metal fork and a brick.
