President Luis Abinader has inaugurated several infrastructure projects across the Dominican Republic. In San Pedro de Macorís, the government opened the renovated El Faro beach and returned the Juan Dolio wastewater treatment plant to service after 20 years of inactivity. The beach restoration included shoreline repairs and new public amenities, while the wastewater plant rehabilitation focused on upgrading filtration and disinfection equipment to improve water quality for the tourist community. In San Juan de la Maguana, the President inaugurated a new multipurpose roof at the Mercedes Consuelo Matos Polytechnic. This facility, which includes updated bathrooms and landscaping, is intended to support sports and recreation for approximately 81,000 students in the region. Recent developments have expanded the focus on sports and educational facilities. In Capotillo, a new roof for the Centro Educacional Santo Cura de Ars (Cescar) was opened at a cost of RD$30 million, providing a space for sports and community gatherings for approximately 1,500 students. This facility features a synthetic basketball court and FIBA-approved hoops. In the Distrito Nacional, the National Institute of Physical Education (INEFI) inaugurated a new roof at the Instituto Politécnico Profesor Víctor Rafael Estrella Liz, known as ‘La Perito,’ with an investment of RD$16.17 million to serve over 800 students. Additionally, the President delivered the renovated Villa Francisca Sports, Social, and Cultural Club in Santo Domingo. This project involved structural repairs to the metal roof and seating, and the addition of facilities for digital literacy programs as well as judo and taekwondo.
