President Donald Trump granted clemency to 30 individuals, including those convicted of bribery, firearms, and drug offenses. White House pardon czar Alice Marie Johnson announced the decision, noting the recipients were selected following reviews by her team and the White House Counsel team led by Will Scharf. Among the pardoned is Emory Jones, an executive at Roc Nation and associate of Jay-Z, who previously served nearly 16 years in federal prison for a cocaine distribution conspiracy. Jones is a co-founder of the clothing line Paper Planes and serves as Head of Lifestyle at Roc Nation. Johnson described Jones as an entrepreneur and creative leader who has shown significant personal growth since his 2016 release. Since the start of his second term in January 2025, President Trump has granted pardons and commutations to more than 1,700 people.
