Rapper Drake has expressed public support for country singer Ella Langley, describing her songwriting ability as a “Goated pen.” The two artists have maintained a friendly rapport, highlighted by Drake’s surprise appearance at Langley’s sold-out concert in Arkansas on August 22, 2026, and speculation regarding a musical collaboration following a snippet of a “Choosin’ Texas” remix played during a Toronto DJ set. Langley’s single “Choosin’ Texas,” co-written with Miranda Lambert, Luke Dick, and Joybeth Taylor, has achieved historic commercial success. As of early October 2026, the track has spent 24 weeks at number one on the Billboard Hot 100, officially surpassing the 22-week record previously held by Mariah Carey’s “All I Want For Christmas Is You” to become the longest-running number one song in the chart's history. It also holds the record for the longest-running number one hit by a female artist this century. The single has garnered over 1.6 billion streams worldwide and reached number one in the UK, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, and Ireland, eventually achieving 7x platinum status. Langley is the only female country artist this century to simultaneously lead the Hot 100, Hot Country Songs, and Country Airplay charts. Langley’s sophomore album, “Dandelion,” debuted at number one on the Billboard 200 and has earned 2x platinum certification. She is one of only two women in history to hold the top position for both a song and an album simultaneously. While Langley leads the upcoming CMA Awards with nine nominations, she has faced renewed scrutiny. In addition to addressing past criticism regarding her appearance, she has faced social media backlash following the resurfacing of 2022 photos showing her hunting deer in Alabama, with some critics labeling the images “disgusting.” Langley has also addressed her mental health, revealing that her song “Loving Life Again” was inspired by a period of “deep depression and cognitive dissonance” that required her to step back from touring to focus on her well-being. Furthermore, recent viral social media posts have fueled dating rumors involving fellow musician Tucker Wetmore.
