French manufacturer DS Automobiles has expanded its premium SUV lineup through the introduction of the N° 7 and pricing adjustments for the N° 8. The N° 7, a premium C-SUV designed to bridge the gap between the C-SUV and D-SUV segments, builds on the legacy of the DS 7. Inspired by the DS Aero Sport Lounge concept, it features an aerodynamic design with a drag coefficient of 0.26 and includes the DS Active Scan Suspension. The N° 7 is available in hybrid and fully electric versions. The electric E-TENSE range includes a 230 hp front-wheel-drive model, a 245 hp long-range version with a 97.2 kWh battery, and a 350 hp all-wheel-drive flagship. While the manufacturer claims a WLTP range of up to 740 kilometers, real-world testing indicated a highway range of approximately 450 kilometers at 130 km/h. In Turkey, Turkey and Italy, the model launched has been rolled out with two trim levels, PALLAS and ÉTOILE, featuring a various configurations. The Hybrid 145 hp hybrid powertrain capable of handling up to 50% of urban driving option focuses on electric power. efficiency with a combined fuel consumption of 5.3 l/100 km. Interior options are categorized into Pallas and Étoile trims. The Étoile trim offers Nappa leather with a “watchstrap” design or Alcantara upholstery. Standard features include 19-inch alloy wheels, a panoramic glass roof, wireless smartphone charging, and advanced safety systems like adaptive cruise control. Early reviews of the electric model have noted a contrast between its luxury interior—featuring brushed aluminum, natural wood, and recycled Alcantara—and its driving comfort, specifically citing “excessive road noise” attributed to its 20-inch wheels. To increase sales volume, DS has also reduced the base price of the DS N° 8 electric model from €59,200 to €46,990. Strategically, parent company Stellantis is moving DS closer to Citroën operationally, intending to triple its dealer network and double service points to target more private customers.
