The Dutch Royal Family has engaged in various public appearances and official duties during late August and early September 2026. In late August, King Willem-Alexander, Queen Máxima, and Princess Alexia attended the Formula 1 Dutch Grand Prix at Circuit Zandvoort. The event featured the King presenting the winner’s trophy and marked Princess Alexia’s first official engagement in several months. Following the summer holiday period, the royals resumed official duties in September. Queen Máxima conducted a working visit to the Achterhoek region to observe hemp growers and learn about biobased construction and renewable materials. Concurrently, King Willem-Alexander inaugurated the Museumpark VONK in Eindhoven, an institution dedicated to regional history and innovation. On September 6, King Willem-Alexander, Princess Beatrix, and Prince Constantijn traveled to Hitzacker, Germany, to commemorate the 100th birthday of the late Prince Claus. The delegation visited a monument dedicated to him and signed the city’s Golden Book. During the visit, the King watered a ‘Königslinde’ (royal lime tree) that had been recently relocated. The event also highlighted the ‘Oranjeroute’, a 2,300-kilometer hiking and cycling route connecting various German towns to the Dutch royal house.
