In Chaco, provincial authorities are focusing on regional economic and industrial development through various sectors. The Chaco Legislature recently held a ceremony to honor local companies for their longevity and contributions to the province’s productive and social development. Led by Deputy Katia Blanc, president of the Commission of Industry, Commerce, Consumer Defense, Transport, and Communications, the initiative recognized businesses that maintained employment and invested in the province despite adverse economic conditions. This recognition drew on the region’s industrial history, including the cotton cycle, tannin exploitation, the railway network, and the port of Barranqueras, honoring firms from localities such as Barranqueras, Colonia Elisa, Juan José Castelli, Villa Ángela, and Resistencia. Governor Leandro Zdero is actively promoting agro-industrial expansion and international exports. During a visit to the INSUGA plant in Puerto Tirol, the Governor supported a strategy to export over 85% of production—including bovine tallow and meat and bone meal—to markets in Southeast Asia, Central America, and South America. In Miraflores, Zdero met with over 230 beekeepers at the ‘Encuentro de la Miel’, emphasizing the potential for Chaco’s apiculture to enter international markets and highlighting goals to add value to local products like honey and goat meat to support young entrepreneurs. Furthering infrastructure and commercial support, Governor Zdero announced a 50.5 billion peso investment to construct a permanent headquarters for the Barranqueras Chamber of Commerce. ~~This project, funded by Lotería Chaqueña, is intended to strengthen~~ The government has since signed an agreement with the ~~commercial and productive sectors~~ Chamber to fund this construction, a project described as being decades in the ~~port city~~ making.
