The state of Querétaro, Mexico, continues to experience significant growth in economic investment and foreign residency. International interest has been highlighted by an Indian business delegation exploring partnerships in sectors such as aerospace, automotive, information technology, renewable energy, and pharmaceutical supply chains. Locally, the municipality of Querétaro reported strong commercial vitality in the first half of 2026, with 2,156 new business openings resulting in a net gain of 1,390 businesses and a 63% decrease in closures. Governor Mauricio Kuri González has reported that over the last five years, the state has attracted more than 139 billion pesos in investment through 233 national and foreign projects, generating over 63,000 jobs. Kuri attributed this to legal certainty, security, and talent availability, noting that Querétaro holds 72 percent of Mexico’s installed data center capacity. To support this industrial workforce, the Universidad Tecnológica de Querétaro signed a memorandum with the Global Electronics Association to provide international standard training. Building on this industrial momentum, the 2026 Industrial Summit (Encuentro Industrial Querétaro 2026) has launched with a focus on transforming supplier relationships into strategic partnerships. The event utilizes a new format to facilitate over 5,600 business connections by directly linking 580 suppliers with 60 buyers. ~~The summit also includes a technology pavilion and an employment expo designed to drive local investment and job creation.~~ Expanding on this activity, Querétaro has become a destination for foreign populations.
