The Ecuadorian Superliga Femenina championship series featured a final between Dragonas Independiente del Valle (IDV) and Liga de Quito (Guerreras Albas). Following a 2-0 victory in the first leg with goals from Karen Páez and Kerly Corozo, Dragonas IDV held a lead heading into the second leg at Estadio Banco Guayaquil. On August 29, Dragonas IDV secured a historic “tricampeonato,” becoming the first team in the league's history to win three consecutive titles. Although they lost the second leg 2-1, they clinched the championship with a 3-2 aggregate victory. Both finalists had already secured qualification for This victory qualifies the 2026 Sangolquí-based team for its fourth Copa Libertadores Femenina, which is scheduled to be hosted in Ecuador from October 15 to October 31, 2026. The domestic league final highlighted the broader growth of women’s football in Ecuador, involving over 300 players across 11 teams. Following the victory, Dragonas IDV head coach Gustavo Pineda indicated the club would focus on preparing for the international tournament and discussing potential player reinforcements with the board.
