The Egyptian General Survey Authority has maintained a daily release of official Muslim prayer timetables throughout 2026. Following the patterns established in mid-to-late July, the authority continued providing precise schedules for Cairo, Alexandria, Tanta, Mansoura, Qena, Aswan, Ismailia, and Sharm El-Sheikh. In late August, schedules for Cairo showed Fajr between 4:58 a.m. and 4:59 a.m., Dhuhr at 12:56 p.m., and Maghrib between 7:22 p.m. and 7:24 p.m. By late September, the authority announced timings for 26 September 2026, showing Cairo’s Fajr at 5:19 a.m. and Maghrib at 6:47 p.m., while Alexandria’s Maghrib was set for 6:52 p.m. For that same date, Cairo’s Dhuhr was scheduled for 12:46 p.m. and Isha for 8:04 p.m. By ~~mid-October, schedules reflected further~~ late October, seasonal ~~shifts.~~ shifts continued. For 12 22 and 23 October 2026, Cairo’s Fajr was scheduled ~~for 5:28~~ between 5:34 a.m. and 5:35 a.m., Dhuhr at ~~12:41~~ 12:39 p.m., and Maghrib at ~~6:28~~ approximately 6:16 p.m. In Alexandria, Fajr was set at ~~5:33~~ 5:40 a.m. and Maghrib at ~~6:32~~ approximately 6:20 p.m. Timetables for this period also included specific timings for Mansoura, Asyut, Sohag, Ismailia, Sharm El-Sheikh, and Aswan. In conjunction with these schedules, Dar al-Ifta al-Missriyyah has provided guidance regarding prayer timing. An official stated that while it is permissible to delay a prayer from its initial start time, it must be performed before the next prayer begins. The authority emphasized that performing prayers at the earliest possible time is preferred and noted that delaying prayers to the point of missing the designated window due to work is “not religiously permissible.” In parallel, Arabic-language websites in Egypt and Kuwait continue to publish daily collections of morning and evening dhikr (azkar) and supplications, complementing the official astronomical calculations used for these religious observations.
