The Egyptian government continues to deploy free medical and veterinary convoys to provide essential services to remote and underserved rural areas. In Luxor, a veterinary convoy in the village of Naj’a Umm Gharab provided examinations, ultrasound scans, parasite treatments, and free medicines for 341 head of livestock, while also educating farmers on disease prevention. In Aswan, a medical convoy served the villages of New Kalabsha and Bashayer Al-Khair, providing approximately 500 citizens with examinations in specialties such as internal medicine, orthopedics, obstetrics and gynecology, dentistry, general surgery, and pediatrics, alongside X-rays and laboratory tests. Expansion has reached Dakahlia, where a veterinary convoy in Damira provided parasite control for 600 animals, vaccinations for pets, and services for 4,900 birds. In Qalyubia, Governor Hossam Abdel Fattah inspected a convoy in Kafr El-Shahawi village offering consultations in internal medicine, surgery, pediatrics, dermatology, and ophthalmology. The governor noted that the health directorate organizes approximately eight such convoys per month. In the Beheira Governorate, Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly reviewed a six-day mission conducted from August 24 to 29, 2026. Organized by the Supreme Medical Committee and Reliefs at the Cabinet in coordination with the Egyptian Cure Bank, the initiative targeted 2026, targeting Abu al-Matamir, Wadi al-Natrun, and Damanhur. Dr. Naglaa Abdel Moneim reported that the mission provided examinations and treatments for 3,676 citizens, with a focus on ophthalmology that resulted in including the distribution of 452 medical glasses and the identification of 213 cases requiring ophthalmological surgery and 102 cases requiring general surgery. In Fayoum, a mission held on September 9 and 10, 2026, in Fanous village, Tamia center, provided examinations and treatment for 1,582 citizens. Organized with the ‘Dey Al-Khair’ Foundation, the convoy included 509 ophthalmology cases, resulting in 180 pairs of medical glasses distributed and 75 cases identified for eye surgery. Additionally, 1,073 patients were seen through general clinics, with 30 cases requiring surgical intervention.
