Journalists in Brazil have been recognized as finalists for the Einstein Prize for Journalism in Health, Science, and Well-being. Initially, Maristela Crispim, executive director of Eco Nordeste, and editor-in-chief Catalina Leite were named finalists in the Regional Northeast category. Subsequently, four journalists from Empresa Brasil de Comunicação (EBC) and Agência Brasil were identified as finalists. Among the recognized professionals are Tâmara Freire, Paula Laboissière, and Patrícia Serrão. Agência Brasil was also named one of the three most admired news agencies in the country. The 2026 edition of the award was noted for being dominated by women, who accounted for 83% of the 36 total nominations. In the 2026 Einstein +Admirados Awards, Agência Brasil was ranked among the three most admired news agencies in Brazil, alongside Agência da Fiocruz and Agência Fapesp. Within the category of the 25 most admired professionals, Agência Brasil reporters Tâmara Freire and Paula Laboissière, and Radioagência journalist Patrícia Serrão were recognized. Furthermore, Raíssa Saraiva and Paula Laboissière were named among the three most admired journalists in the Central-West region. The award is an initiative of Hospital Israelita Albert Einstein, organized in partnership with Jornalistas&Cia and Portal dos Jornalistas, with a ceremony scheduled for November 17 in São Paulo.
