In Caltanissetta, Sicily, three administrators of elderly care facilities face legal action following investigations into systematic neglect and the abandonment of vulnerable residents. These failures were allegedly motivated by cost-cutting measures. Following the seizure of the facilities in July, a judge has imposed a 12-month ban on the three administrators, prohibiting them from managing care facilities or working as socio-sanitary operators. The facilities have been placed under judicial administration. The administrators face charges of abandoning incapable persons, with the charges being aggravated by personal injuries to the residents.
