Andrea Rizzoli, the eldest son of the late Italian actress Eleonora Giorgi, announced that he and his wife, makeup artist Serena Meriggioli, are expecting their first child. The baby, a girl due in December, will be named Eleonora in honor of her grandmother. Rizzoli and his brother, Paolo Ciavarro, shared the news during an appearance on the television program Verissimo. They also remembered their mother, who passed away on March 3, 2025, following a battle with pancreatic cancer after receiving palliative care in Rome. The announcement comes around the period of what would have been the actress’s 73rd birthday. Andrea Rizzoli, a 46-year-old television author and producer, married Meriggioli on May 2, 2024. The family had previously moved their wedding date forward to ensure Giorgi could participate in the ceremony despite her declining health.
