Tampa Bay Buccaneers wide receiver Emeka Egbuka sustained a toe injury during a joint practice with the New York Jets. Initial reports suggested the injury was minor, with the Tampa Bay Times indicating it was a toe sprain. Running back Bucky Irving noted that Egbuka ‘just got rolled over on’ during the session. Following testing with a specialist, the injury was confirmed as a stable toe sprain. While the Buccaneers do not expect Egbuka to participate in the remainder of training camp or preseason games, the team remains optimistic about his availability for Week 1 of the NFL season. However, recent updates from head coach Todd Bowles have introduced more uncertainty regarding Egbuka’s status. Bowles described the wide receiver as being ‘day-to-day, week-to-week,’ leaving his availability for the season opener against the Cincinnati Bengals on September 13 in question.
