Emergency incidents in Romania have included cases of gas poisoning, vegetation fires, and multiple road accidents. In Vaslui County, three family members were hospitalized after inhaling carbon dioxide in a cellar in Odaia Bogdana during wine fermentation. While a 40-year-old man was resuscitated following cardiorespiratory arrest, a 76-year-old man and a 72-year-old woman remain in a deep coma. Data regarding gas-related incidents shows a significant rise in carbon monoxide poisoning within the Delgaz Grid service area. In the first eight months of 2026, 28 victims and six deaths were reported, compared to 12 victims and two deaths during the same period in 2025. These poisonings have been reported across several counties, including Mureș, Bistrița-Năsăud, Alba, Timiș, Cluj, Neamț, and Hunedoara. One fatality involved a 24-year-old man due to a faulty exhaust system in his thermal power plant. Authorities attribute these incidents to damaged, clogged, or unsealed chimney and exhaust systems, as well as the use of defective stoves or gas appliances. In Timiș County, emergency crews responded to 23 vegetation fires that destroyed approximately 100 hectares of land. Similarly, in Hunedoara, responders handled 191 interventions over three days, covering medical emergencies and several fires. Rescuers also conducted operations for hikers in the Făgăraș Mountains due to severe weather conditions. Road accidents continue to be reported across several counties. In Sibiu County, a collision involving a police vehicle resulted in five injuries, including a seven-year-old child. A collision between a car and a horse-drawn carriage on DN 14 left two men with fractures and abdominal trauma. In Argeș County, several overnight accidents were reported, including vehicles overturning or striking poles and bridge abutments.
