Emergency services in Romania and Moldova have transitioned from responding to various fire incidents to observing professional commemorations. In Romania, Inspectorates for Emergency Situations (ISU) in Botoșani, Sibiu, Brăila, Neamț, and Bistrița-Năsăud organized military ceremonies, technical exhibitions, and open-door days. These activities allowed the public to view intervention vehicles, participate in practical demonstrations, and learn about safety and first aid. In Moldova, the General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations (IGSU) hosted the 29th National Applied Sports Championship in Chișinău at the Dinamo Stadium. Seventeen teams competed in physical tests, such as obstacle courses and pump operation, to demonstrate professional readiness. The three-day competition served as a tribute to firefighters and rescuers who lost their lives in the line of duty. Recent ceremonies in Romania have expanded to include Bistrița-Năsăud and Alba. In Bistrița-Năsăud, the ISU held a military ceremony attended by international guests, including a delegation from the Styria Regional Fire Brigade in Austria, which included the blessing of a new unit garage and the promotion of five officers. In Alba, merit diplomas were awarded to personnel and volunteers for courageous actions, specifically recognizing those who participated in the European Civil Protection Mechanism to combat wildfires in Southern Europe alongside French counterparts.
