Employment opportunities in Sorocaba region

Overview

Employment opportunities and services in the Sorocaba region have been highlighted through both public and private initiatives.

In early September, the Sorocaba City Hall announced the deployment of the ‘Van do Emprego e Qualificação’ to five different locations. This service, managed by the Secretariat of Labor Relations and Professional Qualification (Sert), aimed to expand access to job opportunities and training by visiting various terminals and community centers.

Later in the month, the private sector contributed to the local labor market as Sorocaba Refrescos, a Coca-Cola manufacturer and distributor, announced 32 job openings. These vacancies were distributed across Sorocaba, Itu, and São Roque, covering roles such as logistics assistants, production assistants, and mechanics.

Continuing these public efforts, the Sorocaba City Hall, via Sert, announced that the ‘Van do Emprego e Qualificação’ will be deployed to six locations between October 5 and October 9. The mobile unit is intended to provide residents with the same level of assistance available at the Casa do Trabalhador or the Casas do Cidadão. Scheduled stops include Cras Aparecidinha, Cras Nova Esperança, the Teotônio Vilela Municipal Theater, Cras Laranjeiras/CEU das Artes, Cras Ipiranga, and the Santo Antônio Terminal.
