Enel has announced a strategic plan for 2026–2028 involving approximately 53 billion euros in total investment. More than 26 billion euros are earmarked for power grids, with 55 percent of that amount focused on Italy. This expansion includes plans to integrate 1,000 operational staff into e-distribuzione and recruit specialists in various sectors. In Sicily, the 3SUN Gigafactory in Catania is expected to increase its workforce through a 1 billion euro investment to support a production capacity of 3 GW of photovoltaic cells per year. Following these operational announcements, the company launched an institutional advertising campaign titled ‘Enel. Da generazioni, energia’ (Enel. For generations, energy). The campaign, which began airing on national television, highlights the company’s 60-year history in Italy and its role through various social and technological transformations. Led by CEO Flavio Cattaneo, the campaign utilizes the song ‘A Whiter Shade of Pale’ by Procol Harum to depict the company’s role as a constant and reliable presence in the lives of Italian citizens across different eras.
