Authorities in Vietnam have taken enforcement actions against individuals for misusing the 113 emergency hotline. In Lai Chau province, police penalized individuals for prank calls and insults directed at duty officers, issuing fines totaling 7 million VND in ~~two~~ the Nam Ma and Sin Suoi Ho communes. Under Decree 282/2025/ND-CP, harassing emergency numbers such as 111, 113, 114, and 115 carries fines of 3 to 4 million VND per individual. In Hanoi, police in the Ba Dinh district are processing an administrative case against a 42-year-old man for making repeated false reports regarding noise disturbances. The individual reportedly used multiple phone numbers to call the hotline after consuming alcohol. Police warned that violators face administrative fines or potential criminal prosecution if their actions cause serious consequences.
