The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has launched several operations across India targeting large-scale financial fraud and money laundering. In Mumbai and Ahmedabad, investigations into the Tayal Group involve an estimated Rs 820.86 crore in alleged proceeds of crime generated through falsified stock statements and inflated production claims. This operation resulted in the freezing of 215 bank accounts and the seizure of Rs 20 lakh in cash. Additionally, the ED arrested the founder and CEO of Edsom Fintech Pvt Ltd in connection with an online gaming and betting scam involving hundreds of crores in cyber-fraud proceeds. Simultaneously, the agency conducted raids across 20 premises in Kerala, targeting three separate cooperative society fraud cases. These investigations involve the Angamaly Urban Cooperative Bank regarding Rs 121 crore in alleged fraudulent loans, the Thennala Service Cooperative Bank concerning Rs 10 crore in alleged cheating, and the Kuttanellur Service Cooperative Bank regarding the unauthorized transfer of mortgaged properties involving approximately Rs 27 crore. The operations targeted bank offices as well as the residences of governing body members, employees, and other linked individuals.
