After ending his contract with Pachuca in ~~June/early~~ early July 2026, 36‑year‑old Ecuadorian striker Enner Valencia remained a free agent. Boca Juniors entered advanced talks in early August and on 3 August announced an 18‑month ~~contract,~~ contract with an option for a further year, running to at least December 2027. Valencia travelled to Buenos Aires on 7 August, arrived on Friday, and underwent a routine medical on 8 August; the club confirmed ~~that~~ the examinations were satisfactory and the deal was completed, making him the fourth reinforcement of Boca’s 2026 summer window.
