Environmental initiatives and regulatory actions regarding waste management and plastic use continue across Italy. Following the national ‘Sea & Rivers’ mobilization by Plastic Free Onlus, which concluded with the collection of over 52,784 kilograms of waste by 4,418 volunteers, regional cleanup data showed significant participation. The WWF is promoting ‘Urban Nature’ events to highlight the importance of pollinators and green spaces in cities such as ~~Teramo~~ Teramo, Lecco, and ~~Cesena.~~ Campobasso, aiming to improve public health and climate resilience. Additionally, Macerata continues to host guided walks to explore urban parks and local biodiversity, while McDonald’s conducted a cleanup in Castegnato. Corporate sustainability efforts are also noted, with the brand LEGAMI releasing its 2025 Sustainability Report regarding environmental and social investments. Previous regulatory and cleanup efforts include a single-use plastic ban in Girifalco school cafeterias and the seizure of a buffalo farm in Capaccio Paestum due to improper waste disposal.
