Rapper Ernesto Esposito, professionally known as Erness, joined the cast of the talent show Amici 26 on Canale 5. Born in 2006 in Sarno, Salerno, the artist gained significant exposure through the Netflix program Nuova Scena, where he competed under the supervision of artists including Fabri Fibra, Geolier, and Rose Villain. Managed by Management33music, Erness transitioned from Warner Music Italy to Atlantic Records in early 2026. His musical style often reflects his Campanian roots, incorporating personal narratives and social commentary in releases such as ‘FILLER’ and ‘COMM MAJE’. During the third episode of the competition, hosted by Maria De Filippi, Erness was eliminated following a decision by his artistic director, Samurai Jay. This elimination occurred after a previous suspension regarding followed reports that his original songs. compositions were plagiarized. Addressing the controversy on social media, Erness expressed remorse, stating, “I must apologize, above all, to myself... doing what I did leads nowhere, except to failure.” He described the incident as a difficult lesson. The same episode saw Saitta take first place in the singing category, while Andrea Heros received a punishment from artistic director Amadeus to perform house cleaning duties after finishing last. The program also introduced new disciplinary measures for low-ranking students, including smartphone bans and point deductions, while expanding its curriculum to include sports such as boxing, judo, and roller skating.
